It is Massage Envy’s goal to employ therapists who feel fulfilled. For many that means being able to sustain a private practice or work in an alternate setting. We are happy to extend a part-time employment invitation to all Massage Therapists in private practice. You don’t have to give up your clientele to work with other professionals and supplement your income.
Therapists interested in full-time employment will find Massage Envy to be a fantastic home, as our clinics are open 88 hours a week, taking full advantage of the times clients have available for massage. Additionally, the responsibility of therapists is simply to give clients a wonderful experience. A full-time opportunity with Massage Envy means massage only - not laundry or filing duty.
Often times this industry loses tremendously talented therapists who give up massage because they cannot meet their income requirements or they don’t have enough time to operate the office and do the bodywork. We are proud to have a home for all therapists. We offer consistent clientele, steady income and a professional environment where all of the supplies are furnished.
All therapists with Massage Envy are employees, not independent contractors. In this manner we can provide our therapists with the same peace of mind that other professionals expect - the tax burden is shared by the employer.
The average annual income for a full-time Massage Envy Therapist ranges from $32,000 to $39,000.
Each clinic is independently owned and operated so compensation plans break down differently at a local level. However, most clinics offer a base-rate equal to a 40% split per massage plus bonuses. Incentive plans and bonus structures may include but are not limited to:
- Requested therapist compensation
- Membership commissions
- Quarterly/bi-annual reviews for base-rate increases
- CEU fund contribution and/or provided opportunities
- License renewal assistance
- Personal liability renewal assistance (all therapists, regardless of clinic location and structure, may take advantage of the reduced rate offered by ABMP and AMTA to Massage Envy employees)
Because Massage Therapists are employees with us instead of being independent contractors, many of our clinics also offer:
- Mini medical benefits program
- 401k
- Paid vacation
- Sick days
Massage Therapists are often compensated based on their level of experience when they begin their career with Massage Envy, but the opportunities don’t end there; we have higher profile management and training positions available as well:
- Lead Therapist
- Regional Trainer
- Clinic Administrator
- and of course, Clinic Owner
Massage Envy is invested in the massage profession as a whole. The growth, integrity, professionalism and public perception of our industry is deeply important to us. We support national and local involvement in ABMP, Massage Therapy Foundation, AMTA, FSMTA, The Touch Research Institute, and the World Massage Conference.
That said, individual growth in each Massage Therapist must continue to take place for our industry to meet the standards we all strive for. We are committed to providing opportunities for therapists that will expand their professional horizons and deepen their personal understanding of the effectiveness of their work. Many of our regions and clinics offer their therapists the option of participating in local continuing education workshops as a part of the employment benefits.
